Order Manager is installed as an integration layer communicating with the automated vehicles and existing infrastructure such as warehouse management systems, goods identification and other material handling equipment. It uses intelligent order management to optimize site operations, allocate jobs to vehicles effectively, and provide live metrics for monitoring.
Build, and re-build, workflows like LEGOs
Setting up a system to manage the tasks of autonomous vehicles on site used to be a time-consuming, tailor-made solution for each customers. Not anymore.
Each automation project requirement is unique, but most of them comprise similar elements and problems. Order Manager breaks down those requirements into blocks of elements that can be arranged and adapts to fit each unique customer case.
- Modular configuration allows for flexibility and scalability.
- Low-code application empowers any application engineer to configure solutions for customers, based on the knowledge and quality assurance by Toyota R&D.
Operation, optimised
Order Manager turns customer requirements into “business logics” used to build workflows, which in turn manage the sequence in which each order is carried out. The intelligent order execution guarantees a steady logistic flow according to the expected throughput.
- Dynamic order allocation optimizes vehicle transport by putting orders in a sequence that guarantees just-in-time transport while using the least resources.
- Smart storage configurator selects the best storage location according to the requirements.
Linking it all together
Order Manager is a service-based architecture with well-defined API’s for easy integration with customers’ Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other material handling equipment. Order Manager can:
- Integrate with WMS through REST interface
- Integrate with other material handling equipment (e.g. PLCs, conveyors, robot cells, doors, fire alarm) through OPC UA
- Communicate with operators through CallMe Screen, buttons, or web GUIs for mobile devices
- Communicate with other systems for just-in-time deliveries
- Get information about the loads from scanned barcodes to ensure proper handling for each type of load.
Live Monitoring
- Know your KPIs at a glance with graphs that shows transport overviews as well as errors
- Live 3D visualization of the site and where each vehicle is working, charging, or getting stuck.
